Almost vacation....

We are off to Washington on Wednesday to see family and take in the big Ellensburg Rodeo on Labor Day weekend. Kristi's family will be there in full force to celebrate Greta's birth month. I cannot wait to show off all the new stuff she can do. She is walking a lot, but crawling still seems to be her chosen form of transportation.

Kristi dressed Greta up in a cute little summer getup. What a cute little gal.

Greta delivered a belated birthday gift to her friend Keirra Ballenger. Keirra turned 1 on the August 8. Her birthday is 8-8-08 at 8:03 p.m. I will forever remember her birthday. She and Greta had a fun time playing with all of Keirra's toys. I had to run out and get G this little pink car when we left their house.

She is really growing up.

Cute, cute, cute.

Keirra and G have the same 2 teeth. Hmmmm. There must have been something in that Cayman Island water. (We traveled with the Ballengers to Cayman last May when the gals were pregnant with our babies)

Keirra and her Dad Ryan.

Greta and Kristi with her sweet new bike helmet.

Her helmet has some giraffes on it. We like giraffes because it starts with "G".

Fun at Ennis Lake with the Jarrett's...

We went to Ennis Lake on Friday night to relax and have some fun in the sun. The weather on Saturday was good which allowed Kristi to get some skiing in. Big thanks to Mike and Colleen Jarrett for the wonderful hospitality. Mike's sister Jill is the proud owner of the home which is beautiful to say the least. We played a lot of "hand and foot" and I think the Jarrett's have taught the game to at least half of Bozeman.

The "cabin" we stayed in. It has 6 bedrooms and too many bathrooms to count! Colleen mixing up a cocktail. The house has a full bar with a keg tap, soda fountain and fill ice maker. We were definately roughing it.

Kristi with her "fun face" as she finished water skiing. She really enjoys it and is pretty darn good. Mike Jarrett gave her some helpful tips. She will going pro any time now.

Nice form Kristi!

The Jarrett's have a inflatable water park which was set up in the yard. The kid's had a blast. Greta is pictured with Emma Jarrett and the little boy is Chase McGay. TheMcGay's live in Bozeman and are old friends of Mike and Colleen.

Greta playing with Matthew Jarrett's toy car. She is taking a few steps on her own...watch out world!

Greta and Kristi "just a swingin!"

Matthew Jarrett playing in the toy box. Cute kid.

I thought this was a cool picture of Greta on night cruise on the lake. Kristi's hair is blowing across her face.
Another night picture on the pontoon boat.

Cold week in Bozeman....not quite ready for Fall.

We had a pretty low key week with the Manhattan Potato Festival on the weekend. We went out for the parade on Saturday. Pam and Jim came over Friday night and stayed till Sunday morning. It was very rainy and fairly cold for the time of year.

Greta playing with her friend Keirra's belated birthday gift. We are a bit delinquent in getting it to her. Good thing she is only 1!
Kristi and G goofing around. Greta has started climbing stairs. She took a bit of a tumble the other night.
For some reason, G loves to pull the door stopper from the door. She is starting to hear the word "no" a lot. She thinks it is pretty funny...

I love that kid!
Upside down G. She loves to flip backward in your arms. She will do it a hundred times if you let her.

G and me.

My Aunt Sherry and Uncle Dan came to visit on Sunday. As you can tell, Bentley REALLY likes her.

...and so does Wrigley.

Super G.

Greta pulling the picture of her Uncle Ricky from our end table. We had to use the old re-direction trick to get her away.
Still only 2 teeth....patiently waiting Punk.

Aunt Sherry with the the gift they gave Greta when she was very small. I think it is her favorite. It is a puppet and sings songs from the "Sound of Music".

Uncle Jim and Aunt Pam with G.

BIG love for her Mom. Yikes.

Monday, August 10

The summer is flying by. I have been a bit delinquent in my blogging duties so I need to catch up for the last 2 weeks. Work has been busy and it seems that I have had things going on almost every night. A week ago Saturday, Kristi, I, Jim and Julie Schumacher played "Golf in the Dark" at Riverside. It is a fund raiser for the Rotary Club and was a lot of fun. You tee off after dark with glow balls and glow sticks and play 5 holes. They have the fairways marked as well as the pins. It is amazing how well you can play at night.

On Sunday Kristi, Greta, I, Jim and Julie played in a croquet tournament in Big Sky. It was fun as well, but we were getting a bit run down with all of our functions.
G and I with the "stick" for croquet. I think the more refined may call it a mallot. We had a good time and lost out early. They had about 70 people playing on 5 courses. They used the driving range at the golf course.
Jim and Julie Schumacher at the tournament. They asked everyone to wear white. We had a huge rain storm before the event which cleared and it turned out pretty nice.
Greta was playing around on the putting green. She was occupied for quite a while.
Greta and Kristi playing with the bright yellow golf balls.
Greta in the tent during a rainy period.
Greta and Kristi with Lone Peak in the background.

This last weekend was the Montana Land Title Association Convention in Big Sky. On Saturday, we went to Hauser Lake to camp at our neighbor's summer place. We boated and rode jet skis. The weather was pretty good.
Don and Donna Kostelecky's place on the Lake. They have 200 feet of lake frontage. It is really a perfect spot. Bentley and Wrigley were able to run free for an entire day. They had a ball.
G wearing her Bobcat hat "gansta" style. She was a trooper, as always. We took a 4 hour cruise on the lake on Sunday and dinner and the whole bit. As you can imagine, the life jacket she had to wear was a bit much. In Greta fashion, she just went with the flow....what a kid!
G and Kristi on the dock.
Greta tried to take some z's in her contraption. I think she may have gotten 10 minutes worth.
G having a snack on the boat.
Kristi went water skiing on Sunday as well. Sweet Rooster Kristi!
Our neighbor Sarah goofing around on the boards.
Kristi taking in a ride on the jet ski.

Our neighbor Jim Gardner messing around. He and I had a bit of a battle to see who could get who the best with a splash.
