Happy Anniversary! 8 years today!

I am pleased to announce Kristi and my anniversary today. 8 years ago we walked down the isle to start a new journey together. It has gone very fast with many changes and challenges, not the least of which is becoming proud parents of our little G. I look back on the pictures of that day and remember how special it was for me. I can remember my beautiful bride on her Dad's arm walking toward me as if it were yesterday. We chose to do the pictures after the ceremony, so this was the first I was able to see her in her dress. Wow, what an amazing feeling to see your future walking toward you ,wondering what is next and how things might be in the future.

The weather was perfect that day, Flathead Lake was calm, the sky clear, excitement in the air. The wedding was perfect. Good friends, tons of family and many many memories being made.

I recall my cousin's husband Deano from Hayden, Colorado diving in the pool with his clothes on at the reception. Needless to say, I was escorted into the pool by several of my groomsmen. By the end of the evening, half of the guests were in the pool and the security guys were asking my bride to "control the situation". I will remember the weekend forever and thank all of you who were able to come and help celebrate that glorious day.

There was, however, a heaviness to the day as my Dad lay in intensive care in Great Falls on life support. We traveled there after the wedding to turn off the machines. A week after the wedding we layed him to rest in Cut Bank.

On our return to Bozeman, 10 days after the wedding, the Twin Towers were struck on 9-11-01. It will forever be the most emotional 10 days of my life. The highs of the wedding, the lows of my father's death and the unknowns following 9-11.

Today, we have the most amazing little gift in Greta. How exciting to know that it all started with that promise that was made September 1, 2001. We are entrusted with this little person to help grow and teach and have her walk down her own isle one day. I can assure you my composure will not match that of the seasoned veteran Mr. Fred Huschka who has a few weddings under his belt (his kid's, not his own).

I am amazed that it has been almost a year since I wrote my first blog posting. Greta still in her Mommy's tummy and who she would be completely unknown to us. At that time, Kristi was convinced she would be a boy. I can honestly say, I had no idea. So, our family is now 3 (plus the boys, Bentley and Wrigley) and "life is a changin". I cannot wait for what tomorrow will bring and I truly enjoy what we have today.

So, Kristi, I love you and thank you for meeting me this day 8 years ago...and for keeping that promise. I am honored to be your husband.

I cannot wait for what is to come.
